Content Blocks
Content blocks are convenient, powerful tools for adding specific content patterns as well as content aggregated from outside sources. By default content blocks display in a fixed height and paged format; they have next and previous arrows. Most content blocks have a "Stack" option that when clicked will display the content block in a tall, variable height, format that doesn't utilize pages.
The following is a list of content blocks and their suggested uses:
- Flexible Callout - Create and Display a decorative callout on your page.
- Blockquote - Add a decorative quote to your page.
- Button Links - Name, create, and display a group of large decorative links to your page. The links can target internal or external pages. There isn't an enforced limit to the amount of links you can add in a group, but it is recommended that no more than 8 links are added to a single group.
- Link List - Functions exactly like the "Button Links" but formatted for a larger volume of links.
- By The Numbers - Display existing "By the Numbers" content on your page organized by category.
- Events by Category - Display a list of events from the Kenyon calendar by category.
- Events by Department - Display a list of events from the Kenyon calendar by Department, Center, and Office.
- Featured Events - Display a list of featured events from the Kenyon calendar filtered by category, department, or a combination of both.
- Important Dates - Name, create, and display an original list of important dates.
- Media Gallery - Name, upload, and display a gallery of photos and video with captions. The Media Gallery should only be used for displaying at least 3 or more photos or video.
- Middle Path Stories - Curate and display a list of Along Middle Path stories using the powerful Middle Path filter tool. The Middle Path filter tool enables a user to create a specific combination of Categories, Sources, Tags, and Profiles to deliver the most relevant Middle Path content to their pages. The filter can be used to simply display the most current stories in the Athletics category, or using tags it can display the most current stories tagged to a specific academic department. Contact the Kenyon Communications team for additional details.
- Middle Path Social Media - Curate and display a list of Middle Path content from Social Media sources using the Middle Path filter tool (see above for more details).
- Middle Path Profiles - Curate and display specific Kenyon profiles, or a list of profiles based on selected criteria.
- Middle Path Profile and Related Stories - Select and display a single Middle Path profile and the most current Middle Path stories related to the selected person.
- Twitter Feed - Display a list of Tweets from a specified Twitter user.
- Featured Center - Highlight a featured center by selecting it from a list.
- Featured Video - Highlight a video hosted on YouTube by inputting the video's YouTube ID. The YouTube video ID is visible in the URL of the video's page. It is the random number and letters after the "?v=" and before the end or the next ampersand. E.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6t0zFG_SUE&embed=true
