GAMBIER, Ohio — Longtime journalist Mike Curtin visits Kenyon College on Monday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. to discuss the shifting media landscape in America. His talk, titled “The Fall of Newspapers and the Rise of Fake News,” will be held in the Gund Gallery’s Community Foundation Theater, 101 ½ College Drive.
Curtin, now a freelance journalist, retired from the Dispatch Printing Company after a 38-year career as a reporter, editor and associate publisher for The Columbus Dispatch. During his newspaper career, Curtin specialized in the coverage of state and local government, public policy and electoral politics. He also served from 2013–16 in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 17th District.
Curtin is a co-author of the Ohio Politics Almanac, now in its third edition, published by Kent State University Press. A lifelong resident of Columbus, Curtin earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Ohio State University.
