Kenyon’s new director of alumni engagement comes to campus after a decade managing outreach to the 200,000 alumni in Ohio State University’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Annie Gordon has been the senior director of alumni relations and donor experience for OSU’s College of Arts and Sciences since 2008. She begins at Kenyon on July 16.
Associate Vice President for Alumni and Parent Engagement Scott R. Baker ’94 said, “Annie arrives at Kenyon with a wealth of experience working with alumni in a liberal arts setting. Her highly collaborative background and enthusiasm for Kenyon will make for a wonderful addition to our team. We are thrilled she is joining us!”
At OSU, Gordon managed three staff positions that coordinate state, regional and national alumni engagement programs and events to build a philanthropic pipeline. Her team oversees large-scale college events such as an alumni awards banquet, donor recognition events, and homecoming-reunion weekend events.
“I am joining the Kenyon College Alumni and Parent Engagement team during a very exciting time in the institution’s history,” she said. “I’m thrilled to lead efforts in strengthening relationships with our alumni, students, parents and loyal supporters. Kenyon is a very special place, with dedicated alumni and volunteers across the world, and I’m fortunate to be given the opportunity to work with them to showcase what it means to be part of the Kenyon family.”
Gordon received her bachelor’s degree from OSU in 2004.
She began her career at OSU’s College of Social Work working with both alumni and development operations. While there, she increased gifts to the College of Social Work by more than 30 percent and increased college activity more than $1,000,000 in the 2007 fiscal year.
In her current post at OSU, she has assisted in the launch of the College of Arts and Sciences’ first ever alumni and student mentorship program. Gordon has also created a comprehensive alumni action plan to complement the college’s strategic plan.
