Artistic Background
I have experience with sewing, calligraphy, music (voice, recorder, dulcimer, piano), cartography, watercolor painting, crocheting, knitting, and machine knitting.
Craft Center Involvement
My dear friends Deb and Rick Yorde shared their experiences as instructors for years before Deb persuaded me to teach sewing. She welcomed me to the Craft Center in 2012. It was inspiring to join the supportive community of the Craft Center instructors.
Kenyon College Involvement
My husband is a professor of physics at Kenyon, and I sing with the Community Choir. I have audited a few classes and participated in campus-wide events as well as events sponsored by the Physics Department.
Fondest Craft Center Memory
It is a joy to see students take hold of a new skill and start shaping parts of their worlds exactly to fit. I hope to share the peaceful, centering satisfaction of focusing on making something wonderful, beautiful, comfortable, or all three, that previously was only a flat piece of cloth.
