Kenyon offers generous benefits options as part of the total compensation package for our dedicated employees. Benefits include health, dental and vision plans, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement options, and income protection in the event of a long-term disability. Kenyon employees can also take advantage of tuition benefits for themselves, their spouse or domestic partner, and their dependents.
A benefits eligible employee is defined as an employee who works a minimum of 1,000 hours annually on a continuing basis in a regular, budgeted position. See the current year's benefit rates.
Eligible dependents include legal spouse, same or opposite sex domestic partner (Domestic Partner Information & Certification Form); dependent children (as defined by the IRS) until the end of the month in which they reach age 26. You may add an eligible dependent to your medical or dental plan within 30 days of a qualifying event. You must notify Human Resources and complete an enrollment/change form.
Benefits are described here in a general manner. Your benefits are more fully described in their Summary Plan Documents, which can be accessed under Download Plan Descriptions. In case of a conflict or omission, the provisions of the Summary Plan Documents will govern. While Kenyon intends to continue each of the benefit plans currently offered, we reserve the right to terminate or amend any plan, at any time.
As an institution of higher education, our benefits plan year runs concurrently with our fiscal year. Kenyon's plan year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 of each year.
Kenyon's medical plan is part of the United Healthcare Network. You can find providers by using the UnitedHealthcare Options PPO Network Search. You may use any provider you choose,
Kenyon's dental plan is part of the Delta Dental PPO and Premier networks.
Kenyon's vision plan is part of VSP.
Open enrollment will run from mid-April to mid-June each year, for a July 1 benefit start date.
You can make a change to your enrollment if you have a qualifying event, such as marriage/divorce or loss of coverage. You cannot make changes to your enrollment if it's outside of a qualifying event. Contact HR for more information.
