Director of Community Partnerships
Before coming to Kenyon in 1996, Thomas worked as a counselor, educator, and administrator at women's health centers in Chicago and Denver and operated her own health counseling practice in Denver. Thomas teaches courses on gender, health and illness, social movements, and research methods. She is particularly interested in service-learning and connecting the life of the College with the life of the greater Gambier community.

Faculty Associate Director of Community-Engaged Learning
H. Abbie Erler came to Kenyon in 2005 and is an associate professor of political science. Abbie created and led classes in evaluating "Crunch Out Obesity," a health and fitness program used in elementary classrooms throughout Knox County. Community partners for the project included teachers at Mount Vernon Schools, the Knox County Health Department, the YMCA of Mount Vernon and the United Way of Knox County. The program makes a significant contribution to understanding issues of health and education in Knox County.

Assistant Director, community-engaged learning and internships
Alyssa Gómez Lawrence joined the Office for Community Partnerships in January 2016. A Kenyon alumna and English major, who was born and raised in Knox County, her work focuses on the curricular with community-engaged learning courses and research, course work designed to address specific community needs and/or access community knowledge while providing opportunities for reflection on real-world, hands-on experiences, while assisting in fostering new and existing partnerships between Kenyon and the surrounding community.

Assistant Director, volunteering and rural life initiative
Stacy Haught joined Kenyon in May 2017. Stacy enjoys connecting students with opportunities to volunteer in Knox County, having dedicated two years to full-time community service as a member of AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) with Ohio Farm to School and the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. She also assists in cultivating community partnerships.
