Applicants to the program must have sophomore standing and, generally, a 3.0 GPA, which they must maintain during the year abroad. Once accepted into the program, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the duration of the sophomore year.
Although the program is not restricted to English majors, priority is given to English majors if the number of qualified applicants is greater than the number of available places. Ideally, non-English majors will have taken ENGL 103 or 104 at Kenyon.
Students should follow the regular procedures for off-campus study application. Applications are reviewed by the Director of the Center for Global Engagement, the Faculty Subcommittee on Off-Campus Studies, the Kenyon English department and the Resident Director of the Kenyon-Exeter Program. Accepted applications are subject to review and confirmation by the University of Exeter. Successful applicants will be notified in mid-February and will then be required to complete a University of Exeter application and additional forms for Kenyon.
