Mary will be teaching English to university students in Argentina. She has also received a grant to work within the community to start a music appreciation and exchange club, focusing on songs with both Spanish and English lyrics and drawing on research that she began at Kenyon on Argentina's "rock nacional."
Conor has been accepted to the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Program (ETA) in Uruguay and will be teaching English in the capital, Montevideo, and in the provinces. He will also take classes at a local university and continue research on his senior thesis topic, militant cinema in the Southern Cone during the 1960s and 1970s. Conor is also planning to organize a screenwriting club for students to facilitate English learning.
