Kenyon's first annual student film festival was held April 20-21, 2018.
The festival opened Friday, April 20, at 6 p.m. The shorts program was held in Higley Auditorium and consisted of selected works produced by film students during the 2017-18 academic year. Following the screening there was an awards ceremony where the following honors were given:
Best Cinematography: Helena Winterbottom for "Don't Know Where Don't Know When"
Best Director: AJ Reid for "Doze" and Masen Colucci for "Don't Know Where Don't Know When"
Best Original Music: Kaylin Allshouse for "The Assignment"
Best Editing: AJ Reid for "Doze" and Eva Neuwirth & Nick Culbert for "Miles"
Best Screenplay: James Hansen for "The Appointment"
Best Acting: Viktoriia Vasneva for "Don't Know Where Don't Know When"
Best Doc Short: Eva Neuwirth for "Henry Nash"
Best Narrative Short: James Hansen for "The Appointment"
Jurors Award for Overall Excellence: Masen Colucci for "Don't Know Where Don't Know When"
The second event on Saturday, April 21, was held in the Gund Community Foundation Theater and featured this year's senior thesis films by Austin Barrett, Rory Shoemaker, Jas Spearman and Chris Stoll.
