Lavender graduations are ceremonies conducted to honor LGBTQ+/allies that are graduating and to acknowledge achievements and contributions made on their campuses and in their communities.
Kenyon LGBTQ+ students and allies are invited to be recognized and celebrated at an event prior to the College's Commencement Weekend in May.
The 2019 Lavender Graduation Ceremony took take place on Tuesday, April 30, from 5 - 7 p.m. in the Alumni Dining Room of Peirce Hall.
Please be sure to check this page in spring for more information about the 2020 ceremony date. As with previous years, students, faculty, staff and parents are welcome to attend this event.
Each year at Lavender Graduation, we recognize outstanding work done on behalf of Kenyon’s LGBTQ+ and allied community. Please refer to the awards below and consider nominating someone for one or more of these honors. The nomination process is currently open from now until Friday, April 19, at 12 p.m.
This award recognizes an individual or student organization that has worked collaboratively with LGBTQ+ organizations on campus or community partners to advocate for a better community for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and community members.
This award recognizes a LGBTQ+ senior who exemplifies the qualities of empathy, community building and exceptional student leadership.
This award recognizes a first or second year student who has made exceptional efforts to bring visibility, support, and leadership to the LGBTQ+ community at Kenyon.
This award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has worked to create a more inclusive campus climate for LGBTQ+ faculty, staff and students.
This award recognizes a faculty member, staff member or alumnus who has made monumental strides to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion, equity and visibility at Kenyon.
This award recognizes a department that has provided ongoing support to the mission of LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity at the college in the current academic year.
