Student Health History Forms are DUE by July 15. Immunization records are REQUIRED by Kenyon College. The Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Section 1713.55 states that an institution of higher education shall not permit a student to reside in on-campus housing unless the student (or the student’s parent if the student is younger than 18 years of age) discloses whether the student has been vaccinated against meningococcal disease and hepatitis B. The following immunizations are required: Tdap within last 10 years, Polio, MMR and Hepatitis B series. The website does provide a form for those student who choose to waive immunization requirements. If forms are not received by orientation, there will be a delay in obtaining rooms keys.
All full-time Kenyon students are eligible for and included in the Student Health Benefits Plan facilitated by Wellfleet unless coverage has specifically been waived. This plan is fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act. Students deferring their enrollment for the fall 2020 semester are eligible to enroll in the Plan if all of the following provisions are met:
This plan is required by Kenyon College for all full-time students who are NOT covered under their family’s domestic health/hospitalization plan, an individual health plan or Medicaid. The details of this plan can be found online. While visits to the Health and Counseling Center are free, there is a co-pay, deductible, and co-insurance for any student who purchases the college health plan and needs specialty care/referral/diagnostic testing/medications. We encourage you to have a conversation with your student about this prior to their arrival to prepare them for any costs associated with health care.
Conway's Eastside Pharmacy in Mount Vernon, Ohio, provides delivery of medications to student PO Boxes. You can visit their website to set up an account OR connect with them during orientation. They will have a table to answer any questions you might have. Other pharmacies in Mount Vernon include CVS, Kroger’s, Rite Aid and Walmart.
Students who will need refills of ADD/ADHD medications can schedule an appointment with Health Services. Students will need to provide written documentation of testing or correspondence from prescribing physician.
Any important communication from your home medical provider, including medical history, diagnostic testing or orders for routine lab work, can be faxed to either Health Services at 740-427-5525 or Counseling Services at 740-427-5446.
Allergy Shots: Health Services does offer allergy shots to students. There is a one-time fee of $50.
