Kenyon's health service provides primary care services free of charge for currently enrolled students. Health Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m. while classes are in session. Appointments are preferred and can be made by calling 740-427-5525.
If you have an emergency after hours or on weekends, please dial 911 or contact Campus Safety at 740-427-5555. View a list of local health care options after hours.
Health Services is staffed by an administrative assistant, two full time certified nurse practitioners, RN’s, LPN’s, and a part time board certified family practitioner who have extensive training and experience in addressing the unique health problems of college students. We also provide a sports medicine physician one afternoon per week. We provide a full range of student-centered health care services in a compassionate, equitable, and unbiased manner. We also empower students to become active participants in promoting their own health and wellness.
Our office offers initial diagnosis and treatment for a broad spectrum of acute illnesses and injuries as well as management of chronic conditions. There may be some conditions that require specialty consultation and care that is beyond our ability. In those instances, the Health Services staff will refer a patient to a local health care provider or make arrangements that are mutually agreed upon between the student and our staff. Students are responsible for the transportation to and from these appointments.
Incoming students with serious medical situations are encouraged to contact the director of health and counseling services well in advance of arrival to discuss available local options. The Health Services staff will do everything possible to coordinate care with a student’s primary care provider/specialist when necessary.
