With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, the timing is right for relationship advice.
Harlan Cohen, a syndicated advice columnist and New York Times best-selling author, comes to campus on Thursday for a free lecture at 7 p.m. in Rosse Hall. Students are encouraged to attend the talk, which is sponsored by Social Board.
Issues addressed by Cohen are important to college students, said Kimberly Blank, assistant director of student activities for programming. “Harlan speaks mainly on relationship-building in college,” Blank said. “He has written extensively on different relationships, from roommates to romantic partners.”
During Cohen’s talk, students will have the chance to submit anonymous questions to Cohen by text message. Cohen also occasionally plays the guitar as a part of his speaking engagements.
Cohen is the author of six books, including The Naked Roommate: And 107 Other Issues You Might Run Into in College and Getting Naked: Five Steps to Finding the Love of Your Life (While Fully Clothed and Sober). In addition to speaking engagements on college campuses and at community events, Cohen gives relationship advice through his websites, including Helpmeharlan.com and Gettingnakedexperiment.com.
