Kenyon’s finest student musicians showcase their talent on Saturday, Jan. 18, when the Department of Music presents the Angela Waite Student Recital at the Brandi Recital Hall.
Music faculty members select students for the recital based on juried performances in December. The free concert is at 7 p.m.
Student performers include: Padraig Duna ’14 of Charlotte, N.C., classical guitar; Marissa Hartman ’14 of Doylestown, Pa., voice; David Hoyt ’14 of Atlanta, viola; Will Quam ’14 of St. Paul, Minn., voice; Ally Schmaling ’14 of McFarland, Wis., voice; Rebecca Weiser ’14 of Pelham, N.Y., voice; Jason Cerf ’15 of Montclair, N.J., voice; Mary Alice Jackson ’15 of Old Greenwich, Conn., alto saxophone; Sam Graf ’16 of Chicago, classical guitar; Yingqi Li ’16 of Shanghai, China, violin; Noah Weinman ’16 of Pacific Palisades, Calif., trumpet; Elgin Martin ’17 of Rockville, Md., voice; and Zoe Tatarsky ’17 of Mill Valley, Calif., guitar.
The biannual recital series began in 2000 when Kenyon trustee Charles P. Waite Jr. ’77 made a donation in his wife’s name as an anniversary gift.
