Ransom Riggs ’01, who wrote the best-selling, young-adult novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, discussed his work and his new book, Hollow City, in a recent New York Times story.
Riggs was inspired by his collection of haunting, vintage photographs to write the peculiar novel about a home on an island near Wales for children with unusual abilities. The novel was published in 2011 and a film version is expected in summer 2015. Hollow City, which follows the children into World War II-era London, will be published in January. Riggs plans to visit Kenyon for a talk in the spring.
