Kenyon is a founding member of Lever Press, an alternative publishing initiative designed to give academics more opportunities to publish their work and students more ability to access educational resources. The NCAA Woman of the Year selection committee has named the top 30 honorees for the 2016 Woman of the Year award. Among the selections was Haley Townsend '16, a former Ladies swimmer. A record 517 school nominees were submitted and then whittled down to 142 conference nominees. The committee then selected 30 women from that pool — 10 from each of the three NCAA divisions — representing 13 sports and a host of undergraduate majors. John W. Anderson H’02, a longtime member of Kenyon’s admissions staff, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016. A resident of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he was 66. John, who grew up in San Luis Obispo, California, earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University in 1971 and a master’s degree in education from the University of New Hampshire. He joined the administration at Earlham College in 1974 as assistant director of supportive services and two years later took a position in the admissions office there…

Gund Gallery is moving into the dorms of a few lucky Kenyon students. Forty-nine students were selected Tuesday in a drawing to claim a work of art from the Gund Gallery’s collection for their dorm. The gallery’s semester-long art loan program, hosted by Gund Gallery Collections Manager and Registrar Robin Goodman, is back for a second round. For years, a hike to Walker Pond was a secretive thrill for Kenyon students. Now the sale of the land back to the College will give students full access to study the pond and its wetland ecosystem.
