Hillary Child '13 has won a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, thanks in part to her significant research in computational cosmology. The fellowship grant is a rare feat for an undergraduate and provides a $30,000-a-year stipend for three years as well as $12,000 a year to the graduate institution for the cost of education. GAMBIER, Ohio (March 18, 2013)  Sean M. Decatur, an emerging national leader in higher education, has been selected as the 19th president of Kenyon College. The Kenyon College Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Sunday, March 17, to approve the hiring of Decatur after a national search. Decatur, 44, is dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Oberlin College, where he has served since 2008. Steven E. Schmidt '15 has won a coveted $20,000 Boren Scholarship to study abroad for a year in Santiago, Chile. Schmidt, an international studies and Spanish major from Loveland, Ohio, will study at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile during the 2013-14 academic year.
