Kenyon always has been a place for big thoughts, a place where novels are born and movies are filmed, a place where scientific puzzles are solved in laboratories and social policies are debated in classrooms, offices, and dorm rooms. We share ideas at Kenyon and then launch them into the world.
I've spent the last year talking to as many people as I can in this community—alumni, students, parents, faculty, and friends—about what makes this environment so conducive for creativity in so many fields. What I've come to know is that every thought matters, every connection counts. And so does every gift.
To sustain the values and strengths that are so quintessentially Kenyon, we need to work together. To show you how much each contribution matters, the Board of Trustees has formed a challenge to match every gift to the Kenyon Fund with $50. Our goal is to reach 7,700 donors, which would mean an extra $385,000 for the Kenyon Fund this year.
That means extra opportunities for learning and research, extra financial help for students to make Kenyon a reality, and extra resources to preserve Kenyon's timeless beauty.
I hope you will join me in investing in the future of this College we love, both with your time and by contributing generously to the 2014-15 Kenyon Fund. Please consider the enclosed proposal. Your support matters.
Sincerely,
Sean M. Decatur
