2018 Alumni Awards

The Gregg Cup was donated by Henry Sellers Gregg of the Class of 1881, a longtime volunteer who served as a trustee of the College from 1917 until a year before his death in 1938. Originally intended to acknowledge the alumnus or alumna who, in the opinion of the Alumni Council, had made the most significant contribution to the welfare of Kenyon in a given year, the Gregg Cup is now awarded in recognition of a history of service to the College.

Awarded to Marci Barr Abbot '73.

This award is given by the Alumni Council to members of the Kenyon family who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to humanitarian service.

Awarded to Janet Elaine Lord '88 P'19. 

Named for Thomas Boardman Greenslade ’31, Kenyon archivist from 1967-1990, and his wife, Mary MacWilliam Greenslade. Given at the discretion of the Alumni Council to members of the Kenyon family — including alumni, parents, employees and friends of the College — who demonstrate the qualities of affection for and loyalty to Kenyon exhibited by the Greenslades in their many years of volunteer service to the College and its constituents.

Awarded to Elizabeth Barnaby Keeney, the associate director of student accessibility and support services.

Presented to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of its members contributing to the current Kenyon Fund. Only classes celebrating their 5th through 45th reunion are eligible.

Awarded to the Class of 1973 of whom 57.1 percent have contributed so far to the Kenyon Fund.

Presented to the reunion class from the fifth to the twentieth classes with the greatest percentage of members contributing to the current Kenyon Fund.

Awarded to the Class of 2013 with 31.5 percent participation.

Given to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of increase over the year prior to reunion giving, in dollars, donated to the Kenyon Fund.

Awarded to the Class of 1968 for increasing their gifts by 206.7 percent.

Created in 2007 to recognize the class, among those celebrating fifth to twentieth reunions, with the highest cumulative Kenyon Fund totals.

Awarded to the Class of 1998 for its contribution of $28,238 to the current Kenyon Fund.

Named for William Foster Peirce, president of Kenyon from 1896-1937. Awarded annually to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of its members in attendance at Reunion Weekend.

Awarded to the Class of 2013 with 182 registered members present (42 percent of the class).

Named for William H. Thomas Jr. '36 who served Kenyon as alumni director and vice president for development from 1958 until his retirement in 1978. Honors the Reunion Class with the largest amount given and pledged to the Kenyon Fund.

Awarded to the Class of 1973 for its contribution of $178,817 to the current Kenyon Fund.

Named for Bishop Philander Chase, founder and first president of Kenyon, the Bishop’s Cup honors the reunion class donating the largest cumulative amount given and pledged to all purposes to the College.

Awarded to the Class of 1968 for its contribution of $2,627,316.

Named for class agent D. Morgan Smith ’28, whose service on Alumni Council and work with students inspired the creation of the student-alumni association. An annual award recognizing outstanding service as a class agent.

Awarded to Carol Eyler '73. 

Created in 2007 to recognize the reunion class with the highest number of new leadership donors to the Kenyon Fund.

Awarded to the Class of 1968 with 10 new leadership donors.

Named for Anne J. Robinson, wife of Jefferson D. Robinson M’49 who served as alumni director from 1978-1988. An annual award for outstanding service as a regional association president.

Awarded to Ramelle Brown '13, who has led the New York City Regional Association.

A case of Champagne is presented to the class, among those celebrating 5th through 25th reunions, with the highest participation in the Kenyon Fund who are attending Reunion.

Awarded to the Class of 2003 with 80.36 percent participation.
