Join the Kenyon Seattle Regional Association for an Earth Day volunteering event. We'll be assisting EarthCorps with upkeep of the beautiful Kubota Garden in South Seattle.
Did you know that Kenyon now has an environmental studies major that was approved in 2017? Or that the first solar array was installed on campus in 2015? Kenyon has been expanding on its commitment to sustainable operations and environmental education. Though those of us in Seattle area can't hang out at the BFEC to celebrate Earth Day this April, we can contribute to our community in the spirit of sustainability!
We will be volunteering as a part of a larger group with EarthCorps. Tasks will likely include removing aggressive weeds and spreading mulch. Wear clothes that can get dirty, long pants, and closed toes shoes.
EarthCorps will provide snacks and water, but bring your own water bottle to refill and a bag lunch if you will want to eat more. If you have your own work gloves you are welcome to bring them, but EarthCorps will have some to provide in addition to all of the tools necessary.
Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Kubota Garden, 9817 55th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118. Meet at the intersection of Renton Ave S and 53rd Ave S. Look for the EarthCorps sign.
