Dear Fellow Kenyon Alumni,
The greatness of a college can be measured in many ways, but there is perhaps no better indicator than the involvement and commitment of its alumni. While much has changed at the College over the years, the faithfulness of Kenyon’s alumni remains constant. We are involved in the life of the College at every level, and Kenyon’s rise in prominence during the past decade is evidence of the significance of our contributions.
Whether we are helping to guide high-school students through the admissions process, counseling undergraduates about potential careers, or attending events both on and off campus, alumni are actively participating in the life of the College.
As a member of Kenyon’s Alumni Council, it is my hope that you will take great pride in serving as the voice of the Alumni Association. We rely on you to advise the Administration and students in ways to grow and strengthen all that is Kenyon. When I served on Council, it was a great privilege to return to campus three times each year, and I made dozens of Kenyon friends representing five decades of Kenyon alumni. I hope you will enjoy getting to know your fellow members of Council as much as I did.
Before your first meeting in Gambier, I hope you will take a few minutes to virtually meet your fellow Council members and spend some time reviewing this Briefing Book. This Book was created by members of Council with the hope of preparing fellow members for service. We will hit the ground running at each meeting, so it is our hope that this Book will help you prepare for your time on Council.
Thank you so much for agreeing to serve on Alumni Council. We are honored that you’ve volunteered and our team in Alumni and Parent Engagement is looking forward to working with each of you. We welcome your ideas and collaboration. Looking forward to seeing you on the Hill in September.
Very Best,
Scott R. Baker ‘94
Associate Vice President for Alumni and Parent Engagement
