Member EXPECTATIONS

• Attend Alumni Council meetings three times a year.
• Respond in a timely manner to contact/communications from the Alumni Council and College.
• Play an active role on an Alumni Council committee.
• As possible, be active with the Career Development Office as someone who provides internships, jobs or interview training. Participate in Kenyon Career Network (KCN).
• Help out the Office of Admissions by signing up for and actively participating as interviewer as requested.
• Make the annual contribution you can make to the Kenyon Fund.
• Support faculty through returning to campus to speak.
• Have contact with your region and your class agent.
• Participate in Kenyon Switchboard, as appropriate.

The Alumni Council's success depends on your volunteer effort.

New members are paired with current members in a buddy system.

ABOUT THE BUDDY SYSTEM

The buddy will be responsible for contacting the new member, and answering any questions the have prior to arrival in Gambier for the fall meeting.

The buddy will arrange to meet the new member the Thursday evening before the meetings start (if possible). This will give them an opportunity to get acquainted in person, and allow the buddy to introduce the new member to other Alumni Council members. In addition, the pair will sit together on the first day of meetings in case the new member has questions about the process and procedures of the group.

The Alumni Council President will communicate the pairings to new members and their buddies no later than August 15. It is critical this deadline is met to allow time for contact and conversation prior to arrival for the fall meeting.
