Past presentations and workshop topics have included workshops on how to cite sources and avoid plagiarism, advice on forming an analytical thesis, writing a research paper, methods for organizing ideas, how to write in a specific academic discipline, and cover letter and resume writing.

Jeanne Griggs received her B.A. in English from Hendrix College in 1982, her M.A. in English language and literature with a minor in composition and rhetoric from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1985, and her Ph.D. in English language and literature from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1992.
She became the director of the Writing Center at Kenyon College at one-sixth time in 1991, finishing her dissertation on eighteenth-century ironic satire, and staying at one-sixth time until 2011, when the position was increased to one-half time. Her interests include rhetoric and composition, seventeenth and eighteenth-century British satire, poetry, science fiction, creative writing, and interdisciplinary studies.
