Welcome to the Kenyon College Writing Center.
The Kenyon College Writing Center staff is composed of Kenyon students qualified and ready to talk to other students about their writing. Online, they will use a combination of Google Meet and Google Docs to look at the writing and talk to the writer about how to improve.
The Kenyon writing consultants can provide assistance for any type of writing, in any discipline, during any stage of the writing process. A conference with a writing center staff member can help you further your understanding of a topic and find ways to better articulate ideas by asking questions about your argument, organization, development, and style. Writing consultants do more than merely proofread for you; we help you cultivate long-term improvement through recognizing patterns of error.
You don’t have to have anything already written; you can talk to us about an assignment or an idea and a head full of questions. If you do have something written, it’s best to prepare one or two questions about it; that will help you and the writing consultant focus on specific parts of the process of thinking and writing, which keeps everyone from getting overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of the task. We also offer advice on creative writing, cover letters, and resumes.
To see who is available at what times, see Who Works When.
Email any writing consultant to set up an online conference; for a list of consultants, their majors and the languages they speak, see Meet the Staff.
If you have one for a class, email your writing liaison.
