There are several things you've got to consider when planning a digital storytelling assignment for your students. The following checklist will guide you through some questions to ask yourself:
1. What learning outcome is most important to me? Getting my students to interact with the course concepts and material? Or having something aesthetically sophisticated that can live on?
2. How dedicated am I to the success of this project? How much class time am I willing to dedicate to the students learning the necessary technical skills required for successfully meeting my learning outcomes?
3. What campus resources do I need to engage alongside me in this project? Do I need someone to assist with the technical education? Do I want or need to incorporate this project into Digital Kenyon? Will my students need an understanding of copyright and ethics that go outside of what I am comfortable teaching?
