Join us for a set of workshops in which we'll reflect on our experiences this spring, cement some of our learning and start thinking about what we want to bring with us into the future.
These workshops will all be offered primarily online. Register at forms.gle/kNeR7ftH7DoASCqe6 or contact Joe Murphy at the CIP for more information.
If you've participated in one of these workshops before, we'd love to have you join us again!
All times Eastern.
These sessions are full. Please contact us to discuss your course planning!
Are you thinking about techniques from remote learning which you might like to take forward, or reflecting on what you really value in on-campus learning? Our annual Course Design Institute provides faculty with a supportive atmosphere for designing new courses and making improvements to existing ones. We follow a “backward design” process which integrates course goals with assessment strategies and instructional methods. A $200 stipend will be paid.
Take some time to write, record, and make a short video about your experience teaching and learning in the time of COVID-19. StoryCenter is offering us a supportive, online space where personal struggles and triumphs can be shared, and community is cultivated. StoryCenter facilitators will draw on their years of experience as they support the work of documenting everyday stories, in these unprecedented times. We'll close with a discussion of teaching with storywork. This workshop is supported by the Digital Storytelling Grant from the Mellon Foundation.
We've spent 2 months using new technologies, or using them more and differently than ever before. How does this change our relationships, our work, our selves? Take some time to think through our shifting expectations with DigPINS.
The return of this primarily online workshop will introduce some critical readings about our relationships to technology, and introduce some new tools to experiment with. We expect DigPINS to take about 3-5 hours a week, in a mix of online meetings and work on your own.
You can see what we've talked about in DigPINS before at kenyon.digpins.org!
This workshop is being offered in partnership with DigPINS cohorts at the American University in Cairo, Colgate University, St. Norbert College, and the University of Michigan-Dearborn, so it's also a chance to get to know some colleagues at other institutions!
