This assistance is for students with disabilities covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The college owns a lift equipped van which can be scheduled by contacting the transportation coordinator during administrative hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F) at 740-427-5227 or by email at transportation@kenyon.edu. Students with disabilities may also check out a golf cart or mobility scooter (per medical orders) for transport assistance.
The ADA does not require Kenyon College to provide transport assistance or personal mobility devices to students with temporary conditions. Students with temporary mobility related injuries or illnesses must contact Health Services to discuss medical transport assistance. Transport options are determined based on medical orders and a referral from Health Services.
While not required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or this policy, Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS) may be able to arrange assistance for temporarily impaired students in order to provide safe access to Kenyon’s programs and services. It must be understood that SASS voluntarily providing or arranging such help does not mean the temporarily injured student qualifies as a student with a disability under the ADA or this policy.
Please contact the Office of Student Accessibility and Support Services at 740-427-5453 or sass@kenyon.edu for additional information regarding medical transportation assistance.
