Located on the third floor of Peirce Dining Hall, Student Accessibility Support Services coordinates academic and program accommodations. Stop by or contact SASS by email or telephone to discuss accommodations, auxiliary aids and services.
Kenyon is committed to recognizing and supporting diversity including providing services for students with disabilities. The College actively continues support for students with disabilities through Student Accessibility Support Services, staff and faculty.
Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS) coordinates academic and program accommodations. Students can schedule an appointment by emailing sass@kenyon.edu to discuss accommodations, auxiliary aids and support services.
SASS's policies and procedures may be altered for the 2020-21 academic year. This revised information will be available August 1, 2020.
Meetings with SASS are by appointment only. If you would like to schedule an appointment with a SASS advisor please log into the Accommodate system using your Kenyon login credentials and select Appointment in the menu. Here you will be able to select Request New Appointment. Please contact Emily Wise by emailing wisee@kenyon.edu or by calling 740-427-5692, if you would like assistance scheduling an appointment with SASS.
SASS coordinates the provision of accommodations for students with disabilities. Accommodations are individualized, confidential and based upon both the nature of the disability and the classroom or other program requirements.
Students requesting accommodations must provide current documentation of their disability. Documentation should be provided by a licensed professional and submitted to the SASS office.
New/first-time students registering with Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS): It is highly recommended that requests for disability related accommodations and services be made as soon as you are an enrolled student by completing the SASS Accommodate Intake Survey.
When you register for support services, you will need to do three things:
Currently enrolled students will use Kenyon College's Accommodate to request an appointment to discuss academic accommodations for each semester. Accommodations do not automatically roll from semester to semester; you must request them for each semester.
SASS staff are happy to answer general disability questions but cannot share student-specific information with anyone other than the student. Once students complete the SASS Accommodate Intake Survey through Accommodate students will be instructed to arrange a time to meet for an intake interview. Please feel free to contact SASS at any time with questions or concerns.
If a student discloses a disability to you, please refer then to the SASS website or staff immediately. Students that are new to Student Accessibility and Support Services will need to complete the SASS Accommodate Intake Survey process online by going to the Accommodate Intake Survey.
