Hiring international faculty is part of a stated goal to increase diversity at Kenyon College. To address the challenge of living in a global economy and society, Kenyon believes that students must learn from a wide diversity of cultures and that “discourse is enriched by the diversity of the faculty and student body” (Kenyon College, 2013). Globalization is an important part of Kenyon’s overall mission in educating students. In order to bring international faculty in as temporary visitors or permanent tenure track hires, there are government regulations and processes to which we must adhere.
