Ohio Wesleyan University was founded in 1842 by the United Methodist Church, with which it remains affiliated, although it is independent in operation.
With its 135 faculty members, OWU imparts knowledge to and develops and enhances important capabilities within its students, and it places education in the context of values. OWU has 1940 full-time and 20 part-time students, 22 departments, 9 interdisciplinary programs and approximately 70 majors, with the largest being psychology, economic management, zoology, English, and politics and government.
