At the Math and Science Skills Center, faculty-supervised peer tutors assist students in 100-200 level science, math and economics courses for majors and those fulfilling their Quantitative Reasoning requirement. Peer tutors can help students with homework, lab reports or conceptual questions.
The MSSC works to foster a supportive environment for students in science, math and economics classes. Many of the tutors attend the class they support and as a result are very familiar with the course material and requirements of the class. Regular use of the MSSC provides many benefits: individual study while tutors are available to answer questions or help with assignments; opportunities to study and complete assignments with classmates; and discussions with upperclass students about classes, majors, research and potential careers.
This is a drop-in service. Appointments are not required.
The MSSC is open Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday 7–10 p.m. Check the MSSC schedule for detailed information about specific courses and instructions for joining the MSSC remote Zoom meetings. The center is closed during finals week and on Sundays after breaks.
Tutors at the MSSC are highly accomplished math and science students with a passion for helping others succeed. Meet the MSSC tutors.
