Kenyon's childcare facility, the Gambier Child Care Center, opened in November 2007 at 119 Meadow Lane in Gambier (next to the community center and public library). The childcare program in the facility is administered by Knox County Head Start (KCHS).
Care is provided for children from infancy through elementary school age and is available on a 10- or 12-month basis, for half-time or full-time. Many slots are reserved for children of Kenyon employees, but the programs are open to other members of the community as well.
KCHS offers a high quality educational program involving "the Creative Curriculum." Ratios of teachers to children are better than state standards. The facility includes four specialized classrooms, a large multi-purpose room that allows for indoor gross-motor play, playgrounds for each age group, ceiling water sprinklers in every room and a licensed commercial kitchen equipped to serve family-style hot meals.
