The goals of the four-day community-engaged learning summer seminar include: enhancing understanding of CEL pedagogy in a rural setting and its relevance to teaching and creative work; developing skills necessary to introduce CEL in the curriculum; engaging with community partners to explore interconnections. The 2019 seminar will take place May 28-May 30.
Faculty Learning Communities support the creation and delivery of courses that utilize Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) pedagogy to promote and sustain the development of personal and social responsibility and civic learning. Members will expand their understanding of CEL pedagogy, engage in course re-design in an active peer group, and participate in an on-going support network during course delivery.
The community-engaged learning toolkit contains a framework for faculty members interested in incorporating CEL into their courses, outlines and information from faculty workshops, example syllabi, tools for evaluation and a list of additional resources. Access forms (Google Folder).
