Once students are hired by a department, there are a few things that must be done in order to work on campus.
First, students will need to fill out the following four forms and turn them in to our office within three days of being hired: the I-9, the Federal W-4, the State IT-4 and the Direct Deposit Form. (Each of these forms can be downloaded from our homepage by clicking on the links in the left side callout box.) Along with this you must present original documentation (photocopies and faxed copies of documents are expressly prohibited) confirming your eligibility to work in the United States. (Examples of proper identification may be found on page 3 of the I-9.) Failure to do so is against federal law and will delay your direct deposit.
International students must obtain a Social Security Card in order to work. The Center for Global Engagement assists students in filing the appropriate applications.
Second, all Kenyon College employees have been designated as Responsible Employees under Title IX. As part of this responsibility, each student employee is required to complete the Google form at goo.gl/forms/
As a Responsible Employee, you are required to report any Title IX violations reported to you or that you personally observe, to the College's Civil Rights/Title IX Coordinator, Samantha Hughes (hughess@kenyon.edu or 740-427-5820), Department of Campus Safety (740-427-5000), or your immediate supervisor as soon as possible. Additionally, all employees are required to report instances of suspected child abuse in accordance with the Ohio Law.
