The Calvin and Lenice Waugh Endowed Fellowship was created in 2007 by an alumna and her husband as a way to offset the cost of job shadows for students who would otherwise be unable to participate. The fund is administered by the Kenyon Career Development Office.
Students may apply for the Waugh Fellowship prior to securing a job shadow. However, students will be required to confirm a job shadow within two weeks of being notified that they have received the fellowship. After two weeks, if no progress has been made in securing a job shadow, the funds will be released for use by another student.
Requests are considered on a rolling basis until funds are fully allocated for each academic year. Upon receipt of an application, the CDO will send an email to the applicant with the amount that they are eligible to have reimbursed within three business days. Only students who receive need-based aid at Kenyon will be eligible for Waugh Fellowships funds.
The Waugh Fellowship funds are primarily used for reimbursement, but some expenses, such as airfare, can be funded directly from Waugh funds. Contact the CDO to handle these requests.
