Following up is a necessity after the interview. To make the best impression, write and send a thank-you note or email on the same day as your interview.
To write an effective thank you note, be brief and include the following:
Both methods are perfectly acceptable for sending a thank you note to your interviewer(s). You can base your decision on how quickly an employer plans on making their decision. Just remember, if you are sending the note via email, treat the note as if it were on paper - professional correspondence is a must (no emoticons or abbreviations).
