Evelyn K. Moore, associate professor emerita of German at Kenyon College, has published in eighteenth and nineteenth century German literature including "The Passions of Rhetoric: Lessing and the German Enlightenment," 1993. She co-edited "The Enlightened Eye: Goethe and Visual Culture," 2007, as well as (Re)-turn: A Journal of Lacanian Studies from 2003-2009. Her latest book is "The Eye and the Gaze: Goethe and the autobiographical Subject," 2015.
In addition to these scholarly publications, Evelyn K. Moore served as chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Literature, as well as two terms as director of Kenyon Intensive Language Program (KILM).
Research interests and teaching interests: 18th and 19th century rhetoric and culture; visual culture in relation to literature; psychoanalytic approaches to literature; Lacanian theory; film and film theory; feminist theory; innovative teaching methods for language learning.
