Carrie Knell, a native of Mt. Vernon, graduated from Ohio University in 1998 with a bachelor’s in business administration. While living in Cincinnati, she worked in marketing for five years before pursuing a career in conflict resolution. Carrie trained as a mediator and earned her J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 2007. During that time, she worked as a mediator for the Cincinnati Municipal Court before returning to her hometown in 2008.
Upon her return, Carrie worked as a mediator for the Common Pleas Court of Knox County, mediating divorce and civil cases, and became a member of the Knox County Bar Association where she served as president from 2013-2014. In 2011, Carrie began serving as the ombudsperson for Kenyon, providing conflict resolution services for members of the administration, faculty and staff. Carrie lives in Mt. Vernon with her husband, Tim, and two sons.
