Kenyon College is located in Gambier, about five miles east of Mount Vernon, Ohio. John Glenn International Airport is the closest major airport, about a 60-minute drive from Gambier.
Using our regional map, you can reach Kenyon by car or by plane. During the school year, students traveling alone can arrange for a shuttle from the airport to Kenyon. There is no public transportation (other than taxi) from the airport to Mount Vernon or Gambier.

From the north or northwest, take Interstate 75 South to Findlay and exit onto U.S. 23/Ohio 15 South. Take 23 South to Ohio 95 East in Marion. Follow 95 East to Ohio 13 South in Fredericktown. Take 13 South to Mount Vernon. Or take Interstate 71 South and exit onto 13 South at Mansfield. Follow 13 South to Mount Vernon.
From South Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon, take Ohio 229 East (East Gambier Street).
From the east or northeast, take Interstate 71 South and exit on Ohio 13 South at Mansfield. Follow 13 South to Mount Vernon. From South Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon, take Ohio 229 East (East Gambier Street). Or take Interstate 77 South and exit onto U.S. 62 West. Follow 62 to Millwood and exit on U.S. 36 West. Follow 36 to Ohio 308 and turn left (south) onto 308, which leads directly into Gambier.
From the east or southeast, take Interstate 70 West and exit onto Ohio 13 North at Newark. Follow 13 North to Mount Vernon. Or take Interstate 77 North to Interstate 70 West. Follow I-70 West and exit onto 13 North at Newark. Follow 13 to downtown Mount Vernon.
From there, turn right (east) from Main Street onto Ohio 229 (Gambier Street) to Gambier.
From the west or southwest, take Interstate 71 North from Columbus and exit onto U.S. 36 East. Follow 36 East to Mount Vernon. From South Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon, take Ohio 229 East (East Gambier Street).

To drive to Kenyon, follow signs for 670 and 270. Bear right for 670 and 270 East. Merge onto 670 and stay left to merge onto 270 North toward Cleveland. Take Exit 30 and follow signs for Ohio 161 East. Merge onto Ohio 161 East towards New Albany. Take the exit for U.S. 62 (New Albany/Johnstown) and turn left onto US 62. Continue on US 62 approximately 18 miles to the second set of flashing yellow lights and turn left (north) onto Ohio 661. Proceed approximately 11 miles north to Mount Vernon. Continue on 661 (turning right onto Blackjack Road Ext., following signs to Kenyon), then turn left (north) on Ohio 13 and follow it to downtown Mount Vernon. Follow the signs to Kenyon College, turning right onto S. Gay St. Turn right onto Ohio 229 East (Gambier St.) and continue for approximately 5 miles to the College entrance on the left.
Students traveling alone to Kenyon for official campus visits in their senior year of high school, scheduled through the Office of Admissions, may arrange for a shuttle between John Glenn International Airport and Kenyon. After you have scheduled the details of your visit with the Office of Admissions (including an interview, class visit, overnight stay in the dorms when appropriate, campus tour, etc.), you may request a shuttle by following up with the Office of Admissions on the details of your flights. Please contact the Office of Admissions at least 10 days prior to your visit to arrange a shuttle.
When scheduling your flights, please keep in mind that Gambier is located approximately one hour away from John Glenn International. Please consider the times of your flights as you will need to arrive at the airport at least 1-1.5 hours prior to your takeoff. For example, if your flight leaves at 6:00am, you will need to catch a shuttle from campus at 4:00am at the very latest, which may cause a hardship to you, and our shuttle drivers. Please try to consider scheduling flights that leave from and arrive to John Glenn International no earlier than 8am, and no later than 10pm when possible. Thank you for your consideration!
