For more information, please refer to Standarized Testing at Kenyon. If the language of instruction at your secondary school is not English, you must take an English proficiency test. You may choose which exam to take. Kenyon accepts the following exams:
• Duolingo English Test (score of at least 120 is encouraged)
• IELTS Academic Test (score of at least 7.0 is encouraged)
• IELTS Indicator Test (score of at least 7.0 is encouraged)
• TOEFL (score of at least 100 is encouraged)

Students who complete university entrance examinations of other countries, such as the French Baccalaureate, the British A Levels, or the German Abitur, may receive up to three units of credit at Kenyon. The registrar, in consultation with faculty members, will evaluate official examination results submitted by enrolling students and determine the amount of credit and the departments to which credit will be allocated. Any credits so earned cannot be used to fulfill distribution or residency requirements. However, such credit can be cited in a petition for early graduation.
