If you are home-schooled and have met your local and/or state regulations you may apply for admission to Kenyon.
Kenyon strongly recommends that you have an interview with a Kenyon representative to discuss your academic preparation for college-level work. If a representative is not coming to your area, please consider coming to campus for an in-person interview."
In addition to your interview, home-schooled students are asked to submit the following to evaluate their academic background:
Academic Portfolio: A detailed syllabus that lists the subjects studied each year, a description of each course of study, required texts and reading, and evidence of laboratory experience in the sciences. The Academic Portfolio should be mailed to the Admissions office, faxed to 740-427-5552, or emailed to admissions@kenyon.edu.
SAT R or ACT Scores: Results of the SAT or the ACT (optional for 2021 applicants). Kenyon will review applications using either official or self-reported SAT or ACT score results. Read more about standardized testing at Kenyon.
One Recommendation: The letter of recommendation must come from an adult not related to the student who can provide a meaningful evaluation of your academic and personal characteristics. A family member who acted as the student’s primary instructor may submit an additional teacher recommendation. Recommendations are acceptable from private instructors, coaches, clergy, mentors, employers, or sponsors of an extracurricular activity.
