The Peace Corps Prep program is an exciting new opportunity for Kenyon students to prepare for Peace Corps service while pursuing their undergraduate degree.
The program’s goal is to foster the skills necessary for international development work through classes and experiential learning focused in sectors with identified Peace Corps needs. Students must complete a two-year curriculum that includes foreign language and intercultural competence classes, as well as coursework, training, and leadership development in their desired work sector. Study abroad, service learning, civic engagement, and international development internships are also encouraged for strong Peace Corps candidacy following graduation.
Students who successfully complete the program will obtain a signed certificate of completion from the Peace Corps. While this certificate does not guarantee acceptance into the Peace Corps, they will be considered competitive candidates for service.
