Located in Ascension Hall, the Department of Philosophy offers about 24 different courses a year. Taught by a faculty of five professors, all classes probe original works of the great philosophers, analyzing them critically in order to understand what is being said and why it matters. But students are not asked simply to memorize and regurgitate the work of these masters. Rather, they are engaged in the pursuit of their own philosophical truth and the ability to express their ideas orally and in writing.
