To honor the memory of Christopher E. Schmidt-Nowara '88, the Prince of Asturias Chair of Spanish Culture and Civilization at Tufts University, this award recognizes outstanding scholarly work in Latino/a Studies. The prize is awarded annually for the best written, visual or exhibition project on the diverse experiences of people who trace their origins to the countries of Latin America and the Spanish Caribbean. The Christopher E. Schmidt-Nowara Latino Studies Award will be juried by the chair of Latino/a Studies in consultation with the program advisory board. The winner will receive a monetary gift during Kenyon's annual Honors Day ceremony.
