I’m an English and Environmental Studies double major and music minor from Silver Spring, Maryland. I am also a proud member of Kenyon’s swim team and when I’m not in the pool, you can usually find me running on the Gap Trail or working through climate fiction novels for my capstone projects. After graduation, I hope to attend law school to help create and enforce policies that promote sustainability and justice. I am so excited to be working at the OGI this year because it is truly a place that seeks to make influential changes on our campus.
I am Jessica Dannery, a sophomore International Studies and Chinese and French languages double major from Ohio! At Kenyon, I am a proud member of ECO and work at the BFEC. Through these organizations and the OGI, I have the opportunity to help Kenyon invest in bringing sustainability initiatives to campus and the Knox County community. Some of the projects I have worked on include: the Kokosing river clean-up, planning the OGI-sponsored intersectECO environmental justice conference, and organizing Kenyon ECO's climate strike this fall. I previously worked on the promotion of community environmental rights with the organization, Sustainable Medina County, and I draw on this experience to empower the Kenyon community to seek positive environmental initiatives that benefit the local and global climate movement. Kenyon and the OGI’s longstanding commitment to pursuing sustainability is the perfect platform for students, faculty and staff to collaborate in our common goal of making Kenyon more sustainable!

I am an international student from Quito, Ecuador. As an Environmental Studies major and a minor in Studio Art one of my primary focuses at Kenyon has been exploring ways in which social learning and behavioral change can be incorporated into community building and planning, particularly in the reign of sustainability and environmental awareness. Working at the Kenyon Farm and the Office of Green Initiatives, I have participated in projects such as residential composting, electronic recycling, and the Green Revolving Fund. This has allowed me to learn from and interact with students, faculty, and staff, as well as the outside community, in an effort to strengthen our collective connection and care for our surrounding environment.
I’m an English major from New York City and I have been heavily involved in environmental issues at Kenyon. I have worked at the OGI since my sophomore year and was also president of the ECO that year. This past summer, I was a sustainability intern at JetBlue. I worked on comparing carbon offsets among airlines, helped improve recycling, assessed the sustainability of various onboard products, and managed volunteer days at JetBlue's Terminal 5 Farm to grow and donate produce to GrowNYC. One of my favorite projects I've worked on at the OGI was surveying students' carbon emissions by asking them how often they travel to and from school and whether they travel by car or plane.
I am an Environmental Studies and Economics double major from Los Altos, California. I am involved in ECO, KYDSA, Community Choir, and Kenyon Dance Team. After Kenyon, I am hoping to pursue a career in sustainable urban planning or environmental policy. When I’m not studying, I’m playing my guitar or learning to boulder. I’m only a first-year, but I have already grown to love Kenyon and the passionate environmental activists on this campus and in the Office of Green Initiatives.
I’m from Székesfehérvár, Hungary. At Kenyon, I double major in Environmental Studies and Studio Art and am involved in acapella, ECO, and the International Student Organization. After college, I'd like to pursue a career in sustainable development and green energy. I love working in the Office of Green Initiatives because I get to be a part of the accelerating environmentalist student movement and work closely with the administration in driving institutional change.
I am from a small town outside of Cincinnati on the Ohio River. I am a philosophy major with an environmental studies concentration. On campus, I work at the Kenyon Farm, am the co-head of Philosophy Symposium, and participate in clubs like ECO and KYDSA. After Kenyon, I am hoping to have a career in environmental policy, specifically agricultural policy. I love my job at the Office of Green Initiatives because I get to work with wonderful like-minded students and faculty to realize projects bigger than those I could do on my own.
I am an Environmental Studies and Economics major from Lake Bluff, Illinois. I am an active member of ECO and also work for the OGI. I have had amazing opportunities through the OGI, such as helping plan the 2019 Community for Climate conference and meeting people from all over the nation who are working hard to create positive change. When I am not working, I love being outside and teaching others outdoor skills like canoeing, rock climbing and backpacking!
