Between October 2013 and March 2014, President Decatur met with alumni, parents and friends of the College in 12 small-group gatherings in cities across the country. On campus he held 11 meetings with faculty, staff and students. All together, more than 600 individuals participated in a conversation about Kenyon's future. Out of these discussions three common themes emerged that will serve as the focus of the Kenyon 2020 initiative:
Kenyon will work toward developing a strong first-year experience, integrating experiential learning, and launching students to post-graduation success.
The College will develop the best strategies for balancing enrollment priorities and financial sustainability.
Kenyon will focus on community development, improving internal communication, supporting faculty and staff development, and making Kenyon a diverse and inclusive community.
